Connect an AI assistant

Search PickedJobs from your assistant using your own account.

What the connection can do

PickedJobs searches its catalog of tech roles, returns full job postings, and checks your daily job allowance. It supports filters for role, seniority, work arrangement, hiring region, employment type, technology and published salary.

The connection does not submit applications, message recruiters, upload resumes or change account settings. You decide whether to apply using the application link in each result. Hiring eligibility, visa sponsorship and compensation are known only when the employer provides them.

Plugins and one-click setup

In Claude, use Add PickedJobs to Claude: Claude opens its Add custom connector dialog with the name and URL filled in for you to review and add. In Claude Code, install the plugin, which bundles a job-search skill and this server, from our public marketplace:

The PickedJobs listings for Anthropic’s directory and OpenAI’s plugin directory are prepared and awaiting review; once approved they appear in Claude’s and ChatGPT’s plugin catalogs. Until then, ChatGPT users connect PickedJobs as a custom MCP server using the steps below. The plugin source is public at github.com/yashgandhe666/pickedjobs-plugins.

Before you connect

Create a PickedJobs account or sign in at Sign in. Your assistant must support remote MCP using Streamable HTTP and OAuth. Use the public HTTPS address below; cloud assistants cannot reach a localhost development server. Your assistant’s plan or workspace policy may restrict custom connectors.

ChatGPT MCP setup

  1. In ChatGPT desktop, open Plugins → Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it PickedJobs and paste the MCP URL above.
  3. Select Streamable HTTP.
  4. Under Headers, set Key to Authorization and Value to Bearer YOUR_API_KEY, using your full key. Leave Bearer token env var blank, then Save.
Using ChatGPT web?

Open Plugins → Add custom MCP server, paste the URL and choose OAuth. Sign in and allow access.

Claude MCP setup

  1. Open Add PickedJobs to Claude, or go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter the name PickedJobs and the URL above yourself.
  2. Review the prefilled name and URL, choose Sign in now, then Add.
  3. Sign in to PickedJobs and choose Allow. Enable it in your chat.

Your workspace owner may need to add the connector first.

Use an API key

  1. Create a key and copy it.
  2. Add the server URL below. Choose Streamable HTTP.

Other assistants

Account settings offers install links for Cursor and VS Code and commands for Claude Code, Codex CLI, Grok Build, Hermes Agent and OpenClaw. Use OAuth when supported, or the API-key fields above. Keep keys private and never paste credentials into a chat.

If a search returns no matches, adjust a filter with your assistant. Salary filters include only disclosed pay. Selecting multiple values within a filter matches any selected value; different filters are combined.

Usage and access controls

Free accounts can fetch 250 jobs per UTC day. Each returned search result and successful full-posting read uses one job from that allowance, including repeats. Searches return up to 30 jobs per page. Empty results, missing postings and checking usage do not use the job allowance. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC; API keys also have a burst limit.

In Account settings, you can view usage, disconnect approved assistants and revoke API keys. Disconnection blocks subsequent MCP requests immediately. An already-running request may finish. Authorizing a connection does not give it access to your other assistants or your full conversation history.

Troubleshooting and privacy

If a connection fails, confirm the endpoint ends in /mcp, select OAuth, and complete sign-in and approval. Reconnect if you revoked access. If your allowance is exhausted, wait for its daily reset. For support, email [email protected] with the assistant name and visible error, without tokens or passwords.
