Job description

About Megaport
We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture
We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We’re committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

About Latitude.sh

Launched in 2019, Latitude.sh provides automated, global Bare Metal infrastructure with cloud-like flexibility. Recently acquired by Megaport, we are now integrating high-performance compute with world-class connectivity to power the next generation of AI and enterprise workloads at scale.

Why Latitude.sh + Megaport?

At Latitude.sh, you’ll be part of a lean, agile team where your work truly matters. From day one, you’ll have ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real impact through innovation and creative problem-solving.

Together with Megaport, we embrace a collaborative, low-hierarchy culture where curiosity drives growth, diversity is valued, and customers are at the center of everything we do. We’re proud to be an inclusive company and welcome talent from all backgrounds. If our values resonate with you, we’d love to meet you.

The Role

Our API is the backbone of everything Latitude offers — server provisioning, network management, billing, and more. It's a Ruby on Rails application with Go services, and it needs to keep up with an accelerating roadmap.

What You'll Be Doing

    • Build and maintain the core API that customers, SDKs, Terraform provider, and internal systems depend on
    • Work with our platform architect and lead backend engineer on design and implementation
    • Contribute to the developer-facing surface: REST APIs, webhooks, SDK compatibility
    • Own reliability of the services you build

What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years backend engineering
    • Strong Ruby on Rails, Python or Go (ideally both)
    • Experience designing and building REST APIs at scale
    • Relational databases, background jobs, distributed systems fundamentals
    • You care about API design as a craft — our customers are developers and they notice

What We Offer

    • Contractor (PJ) status
    • Time off : 30 working days after 12 months of contract
    • Competitive Compensation
    • Wellhub (formerly Gympass)
    • Annual Bonus based on company and team performance
    • Opportunities for professional growth and development
